Filming Endeavour in Oxford, Part Two

Filming Endeavour in Oxford

On this fine, sodden, English morning, I was getting rained on from the moment my bus dropped me in town, so when I turned the corner onto Market street, I was unsurprised to find the loitering film crew of the TV series, Endeavour, probably waiting for any moment when water wasn’t falling from the sky. They had another of their fantastic vintage buses in tow, so, of course, out came the camera.

It did come as a surprise when I realized that the bus in my viewfinder happened to be sheltering Shaun Evans, Roger Allam, and other cast members, all stylishly dodging the steady precipitation in which I was, at that very moment, standing. Whether for this fact or just the uncommon appearance of a Rolleiflex twin lens camera, it seemed that I had young Morse’s attention, so I approached the door and asked if he wouldn’t mind a photo to which he affably nodded.

But this was not my last encounter with the Endeavour crew, for the very next day … continued in Part Three, coming soon.
